Since January of 2025, the Missouri State House has been making decisions without representation for the people of the 95th District because the district has been vacant and Governor Kehoe has refused to call a special election to fill the seat. This means an entire community of people in the Mehlville and Oakville area in South St. Louis County has no say in major changes to our state laws like the redistricting proposed in 2025.

In a letter to the editor published in the St. Louis Call this month, a South County resident said, “It is frustrating that District 95 residents may not have representation in Jefferson City until 2027, since it increasingly appears that Governor Mike Kehoe does not intend to call a special election.”
