Voters need clear and honest information to make smart choices. But sometimes, politicians don’t tell us what’s really happening in the government. We deserve better!

With news and social media being confusing or one-sided, it’s hard for regular people to understand what’s going on in our state. This year, it was really hard to learn what laws were being passed and how they might affect us and our families. The same thing happens with ballot initiatives. It can be confusing to figure out who made them, what they really do, and if they’re good or bad.

Our laws should be easier for people to understand.

Here’s my plan:

• Share updates on important bills through email and social media

• Hold town halls and coffee chats so people can ask me questions in person

• Be available to anyone who visits Jefferson City to talk about their concerns

• Work to change the new law that makes ballot initiatives hard to understand

• Create a free, easy-to-read booklet that explains each ballot initiative, lists the pros and cons, and shows how to contact the people who made them

This will help everyone know what’s really going on and support Missouri’s Sunshine Laws.
